Es muy difícil poner en palabras lo que siento estar en casa. Es increíble estar cerca de familiares y amigos cercanos y tener la capacidad de ver a todos en persona en lugar de en la pantalla del ordenador durante una sesión de Skype! No puedo dejar de sentir que es un poco agridulce, sin embargo, porque yo deje de ver todas las caras que hay. Tener la oportunidad de hacer lo que hacemos y compartir esto con todos ustedes es un verdadero regalo que nunca doy por sentado y nunca lo haré.

El viaje nos fuimos todos juntos en "This Is War" fue tan increíble. Nunca olvidaremos los momentos que componen los dos años más en el camino, compartiendo ese disco con todos ustedes. A pesar de que me siento aquí y escribo esta carta poco a todos, empiezo a sonreír cuando pienso en los mismos días a partir de la promoción del álbum con todos ustedes aquí en Los Ángeles, en Melrose, en frente de the hive . Los humildes comienzos de una experiencia realmente hermosa y sorprendente, una experiencia que no cambiaría por nada. Todo el camino hasta la última muestra en Nueva York en el que todos VyRT'ed juntos, rompió un récord mundial Guinness en conjunto, y se hizo cargo de una iglesia de unos días juntos, y experiencias increíbles para muchos en el medio que todos compartimos juntos.

Hay un tema aquí, "juntos", "familia", "Cult", "Ejército", lo que quieras llamarlo. Al igual que las experiencias de los últimos dos años más, el futuro no será diferente en este sentido una - en el sentido de que marcará el comienzo de un nuevo conjunto de experiencias juntos, de nuevo, como una familia de personas con ideas afines, que sólo quiero creer, soñar, vivir, morir, sangran, los puños en el aire, los ojos al cielo, perdiendo la cabeza de mierda JUNTOS! Yo personalmente no puedo esperar a ver qué depara el futuro. Vamos a ver si no podemos encontrar la manera de acelerar el tiempo y llegar más rápido!

Movie of the Week

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is a 2011 English-language drama/thriller film directed by David Fincher, adapted from Stieg Larsson's Swedish-language novel of the same name by Steven Zaillian. The film stars Daniel Craig as Mikael Blomkvist and Rooney Mara as Lisbeth Salander and tells the story of a man's mission to find out what has happened to a girl who has been missing for 40 years, and who may have been murdered.

Album of the Week

Helplessness Blues is the second studio album by Seattle, Washington-based folk band Fleet Foxes. It was released on May 3, 2011 as a follow-up to their eponymous 2008 Fleet Foxes album. Upon release, the album received universal acclaim from critics and was nominated for Best Folk Album for the 54th Grammy Awards.

Founded in 2008, Project 7 is the brainchild of founder Tyler Merrick, a.k.a. “the social capitalist”. He wanted to turn the 7 deadly sins upside down. For example, instead of focusing on a person who is gluttonous, focus on helping the person who has nothing to eat. Project 7’s goal is to make positive change in seven areas of global need.

Album of the Week

Velociraptor! is the fourth album by the British indie rock group Kasabian, released on 16 September 2011. The album has been met with generally positive reviews. On Metacritic, Velociraptor! has the band's highest rating with a score of 79 out of 100.

Website of the Week

Falling Whistles is a non-profit organization campaigning for peace in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Falling Whistles sells whistles for $34 to $104 to raise money for education, advocacy, and the rehabilitation of war-affected people in Congo. The organization got its name from a journal written by its founder, sharing his experiences during a trip to eastern Congo in 2008. During that trip, Falling Whistles' founder met a group of former child soldiers who told him that some children who are too young to carry weapons were sent into battle armed only with whistles. By wearing whistles, the campaign aims to use this weapon as a tool of protest and to raise awareness of the situation in Congo.

MARS MTV: Unplugged On VyRT

Happy Holidays!

Due to popular demand and some rather persistent tweets (you know who you are) we have decided to release the video for the award winning MTV Unplugged session we did not too long ago in NYC.

The plan was for the label to have it available on iTunes in time for the holidays but because of some technical snafus the deadline for delivery was missed and we were told it wouldn’t be ready until the end of January. No fun.

But, thankfully VyRT stepped in and offered to save the day.

For the very first time, VyRT is offering a Direct Download of the entire 30+ min show PLUS an extra unreleased version of ALIBI, some never before seen footage, all in glorious HD, AND on top of it – it’s here in time for the holidays as you requested! Ho Ho Ho!

This is a bit of an experiment so thanks for betting on us and trying out something new + different. We worked hard to make this extra special, I hope you enjoy it!

Album of the Week

Yuck are an indie rockband that originated in London, England. The band features members Daniel Blumberg and Max Bloom, both of whom formerly played in the band Cajun Dance Party. The band's self-titled debut album was released through Fat Possum on 21 February 2011 in the United Kingdom. Critics have likened the band to Dinosaur Jr and Sonic Youth. The band's self-titled album was named one of the 10 Best Albums of 2011 by Rolling Stone.

¡Felices fiestas!

Debido a la demanda popular y algunos tweets bastante persistente(ustedes saben quienes son), hemos decidido publicar el video dela galardonada sesión de MTV Unplugged que no hace mucho tiempo en Nueva York.

El plan era que la etiqueta para tenerlo disponible en iTunes a tiempo para las vacaciones, pero debido a algunas meteduras de pata técnica de la fecha límite para la entrega se perdió y nos dijeron que no estaría listo hasta finales de enero. No es divertido.

Pero, afortunadamente VyRT intervino y se ofreció a salvar el día.

In 1968, at the age of twenty-three, Karl Marlantes was dropped into the highland jungle of Vietnam, an inexperienced lieutenant in command of a platoon of forty Marines who would live or die by his decisions. Marlantes survived, but like many of his brothers in arms, he has spent the last forty years dealing with his war experience. In What It Is Like to Go to War, Marlantes takes a deeply personal and candid look at what it is like to experience the ordeal of combat, critically examining how we might better prepare our soldiers for war.

Movie of the Week

Contagion is a 2011 medical thriller disaster film directed by Steven Soderbergh. The film has an ensemble cast that includes Marion Cotillard, Matt Damon, Laurence Fishburne, Jude Law, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Winslet, and Bryan Cranston. Contagion follows the rapid progress of a lethal indirect contact transmission virus (fomite transmission) that kills within days. As the fast-moving pandemic grows, the worldwide medical community races to find a cure and control the panic that spreads faster than does the virus itself. As the virus spreads around the world, ordinary people struggle to survive in a society coming apart.

Album of the Week

w h o k i l l is the second studio release by Merrill Garbus' experimental solo-project tUnE-yArDs. It was released on 4AD Records on April 19, 2011. The album covers a "formidable range of genres and styles" including acoustic folk, rock, R&B, punk, funk, free jazz & Afro-beat. As on her first album, BiRd-BrAiNs, w h o k i l l relies on heavily layering looped sounds – notably vocals, drums & ukulele – which multi-instrumentalist/vocalist/composer, Garbus, uses to create her richly textured sound.

Thirty Seconds To Mars are now a
Guinness World Record Breaking Band!!

MARS hit 300 shows at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City on December 7th, confirming them as the new holders of the record for most shows performed during a single album cycle ("This Is War"). The band has been on tour for two years. FromGuinness World Records: Jared has said of the award: "We have been on the road for an incredible and insane two years and thought what better way to celebrate the end of this phenomenal journey than with a week of special shows in New York City. He continued: "We thought documenting this for posterity with Guinness World Records would be fun especially as we aren't any good at growing our fingernails very long or cultivating the world's largest squash".

Atlas Shrugged is a novel by Ayn Rand, first published in 1957 in the United States. Rand's fourth and last novel, it was also her longest, and the one she considered to be her magnum opus in the realm of fiction writing. Atlas Shrugged includes elements of mystery and science fiction, and it contains Rand's most extensive statement of Objectivism in any of her works of fiction.

Movie of the Week

Restrepo is a 2010 documentary film about the Afghanistan war, directed by American journalist Sebastian Junger and British/American photojournalist Tim Hetherington. The film explores the year that Junger and Hetherington spent in Afghanistan on assignment for Vanity Fair, embedded with the Second Platoon, B Company, 2nd Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment (airborne), 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team of the U.S. Army in the Korengal Valley. The 2nd Platoon is depicted defending an Observation Post (OP) named OP Restrepo, for PFC Juan Sebastián Restrepo, a Colombian-born naturalized U.S. citizen platoon medic who was killed earlier in the campaign.

Album of the Week

Split the Atom is the debut full-length album by Dutch drum and bass trio Noisia. The album was released as a full-length CD as well as two double 12" EPs; the Vision EP includes four Drum and Bass tracks whilst the Division EP includes four Electro house/Breaks tracks.
